Since it was founded, the NGO le Cercle Polaire has benefited from the confidence and support of scientific and political figures who share its dual aim of promoting greater knowledge and protection of the Polar Regions. The honorary members of the NGO le Cercle Polaire include a world-renowned glaciologist, the political founding father of the Madrid Protocol, specialists in international relations, a former government minister from Greenland and specialists in Inuit languages and culture. Their work and actions have fostered awareness of the importance of the Polar Regions throughout the entire world.
