“The rapid retreat of sea ice in the Arctic Ocean is a tragedy and a responsibility for us all”
Ann Daniels is a British polar guide. After giving birth to triplets, she left her job in banking to join expeditions to the Arctic and to Antarctica. In 1997, she was part of the first all-women team to ski to the North Pole. Three years later, she was again part of an all-women team skiing to the South Pole. She has twice attempted to reach the North Pole (2005 and 2009) but failed due to early summer melt.
