Xavier Desmier is a renowned photographer, with a lot of experience of Polar expeditions. A former crewmember of Captain Cousteau and companion of explorer Jean-Louis Etienne aboard the Antarctica, he has travelled widely, from Greenland to the French Southern Lands and Canada’s Far North. In 1998, he received the World Press first prize in the Environment category for his photo essay on Killer Whales in the Crozet Islands.
