Glaciochimiste du Laboratoire de Glaciologie et Géophysique de l'Environnement (LGGE), Christophe Ferrari est professeur à l'Université Joseph Fourier de Grenoble, et membre de l'Institut Universitaire de France. Spécialiste de la pollution des régions polaires, il cherche à identifier les processus de transfert du mercure depuis l'atmosphère vers les écosystèmes gelés et comprendre les mécanismes de toxification.
Christophe Ferrari a effectué plusieurs missions en Arctique (Svalbard, Groenland et Canada) pour étudier les dépots de mercure dans les neiges de l'Arctique.
